Symposium on Geometry Processing

SGP 2026 will take place at the main building of the University of Bern in Bern, Switzerland.
It is conveniently located above the main train station on a terrace called “Grosse Schanze”.

The graduate school presentations (June 29–30) will be held in Room 201. The main conference talks (July 1–3) will take place in the Aula, while coffee breaks take place in the Foyer (ground floor entrace towards the lawn).

By plane

Bern is centrally located in Switzerland and is well-connected to the major Swiss airports Zurich (ZRH) (~1h15 by train), Geneva (GVA) (~2h by train), and Basel (BSL) (~1h20 by train).

By train

You can look up train connections and buy tickets at https://www.sbb.ch/en.

Note: The platforms of Bern’s main station are connected both to an above-ground exit “Welle 7” (escalators that go up), and to a main station corridor (ramp/stairs going down). At one end of the corridor (near platform 13) there is an elevator that takes you directly up to “Grosse Schanze | Universität”.

By car

We do not recommend to travel by car, as there is limited parking space in Bern, and the parking is quite costly. Furthermore, parts of the city are car-free. Bern has an extensive public transport system consisting of trains, busses and trams, and every part of the city is easily reachable using these transportation methods.

There are many hotels in Bern, many in walking distance from the conference venue. Popular choices include Best Western Plus Hotel Bern, Hotel Savoy Bern, Kreuz Bern, and Schweizerhof Hotel & Spa.
Note that together with any hotel accomodation in Bern, you receive a free local public transport ticket, the Bern ticket.
